The Vancouver Board of Trade hosted its 28th Annual Governors' Banquet and Rix Awards on April 15, 2015.
The black-tie gala brought together business, government, and community leaders to induct The Vancouver Board of Trade's immediate past chair into the prestigious Council of Governors. The 2015 inductee was Elio R. Luongo, Canadian Managing Partner, Tax, KPMG.
The Vancouver Board of Trade also honoured recipients of the 2015 Rix Awards for Community and Corporate Citizenship.
2015 Rix Award for Engaged Community Citizenship
Carole Taylor, O.C., Former Journalist; Former Minister of Finance, Province of British Columbia; Chancellor Emeritus, Simon Fraser University
In recognition of her leadership in local and provincial politics, her contribution to B.C.'s academic community, and her more than 20 years of dedicated and thoughtful journalism, coupled with a strong commitment to improving our community through volunteerism and work on many corporate boards.
2015 Rix Award for Engaged Corporate Citizenship
In recognition of the company's ongoing commitment to building healthy, vibrant communities, with a focus on community-based news and engaging content about issues affecting B.C.'s business community.
This year's gala drew a whopping 900 attendees to the Vancouver Convention Centre West, making it the most successful Governors' Banquet in the organization's history.
